Reading a pair page on DEX Screener

A pair page on DEX Screener puts a chart in the middle, a live trade log below it, and a stack of headline statistics to the side. Newcomers read the statistics top to bottom in the order they appear. A better habit is to read them in order of trustworthiness, which means liquidity first, then age, then the transaction mix, and only afterwards the price change that drew you there.

Liquidity is the dollar value sitting in the pool, and it sets the ceiling on any position you could realistically open or close. Beside it, DEX Screener shows fully diluted valuation, calculated from total supply, and market capitalization where circulating supply is known. For a token launched an hour ago these two figures are often identical and both are theoretical, because they multiply an entire supply by a price that only a sliver of that supply has ever traded at.

Charts, candles and the two price scales

The chart on DEX Screener is a standard candlestick view built from the swap history of one pair, with selectable intervals running from minute granularity up to daily candles. On a pool a few minutes old, only the shortest intervals contain anything; asking for a daily candle produces one bar and no information.
